Brian Meshkin
From his LinkedIn: I am an executive leader who specializes in inspiring teams to design and implement innovations to successfully solve problems. I am an optimist who gravitates to mission-driven “big ideas” and I empower my colleagues to realize this vision through disciplined implementation, relentless focus and strategic alignment. My social entrepreneurship began at 13 years of age following the tragic death of a friend in front of my childhood home. Following this tragedy, I led the lobbying effort to pass the nation’s first bicycle helmet law for children. I learned at a young age that someone like me – who wasn’t born into a famous or wealthy family – could make a difference in the world.
Over my career, I’ve been blessed to work for and help build amazing companies which have made a positive impact – as a Team Leader at the Eli Lilly e.Lilly venture fund where we funded and piloted new digital health technologies; former manager of digital health for Johnson & Johnson’s largest product where I helped launched www.Cancer.com; and helped direct marketing efforts for Prometheus Laboratories to pioneer personalized gastroenterology. The Baltimore Sun selected me as one of five “Earthly Angels”. In 2016, I was chosen as the Emerging Technology Company CEO of the Year by OCTANe, as an Excellence in Entrepreneurship Winner from the OC Business Journal, and a two-time finalist for the EY Entrepreneur of the Year Award. As a pioneer in big data and precision medicine, I founded Proove Biosciences in 2009 which became one of the fastest growing technology companies in North America – ranked in the Deloitte Technology Fast 500 and the Inc. 500. In 2010, I became the youngest ever-elected school board member for one of the nation’s leading school systems. Today, I am the Managing Partner of Profound Ventures – a seed stage impact fund, as well as consulting with numerous companies to help them achieve their goals to positively impact the world.
